01

FIRST CUSTOM

How to start customizing wrestling figures

You do not need to know every material or production term. Start with the story you want the figure to tell. Is this a famous entrance, a championship night, a specific promotion, or gear that never received an official figure?

  1. Choose the exact figure. Write down the brand, line, wrestler, and release when possible.
  2. Choose one look. Mixing photos from different years can create conflicting details.
  3. Pick the custom pieces. Shirt, jacket, belt, accessory, complete gear set, or 3D-printed item.
  4. Collect clear references. Front and back views are the minimum. Side and close-up photos make a big difference.
  5. Set the priorities. Tell us which colors, logos, and details matter most.
02

SIZE & FIT

Mattel Elite, Ultimate Edition, and AEW Jazwares compatibility

“Six-inch figure” is a category, not a universal clothing size. WWE Mattel Elite, Mattel Ultimate Edition, and AEW Jazwares figures can have different shoulder widths, chest shapes, waist sizes, neck openings, and articulation.

Figure lineWhat to checkWhy it matters
WWE Mattel EliteTorso mold and shoulder widthDifferent body types may need different shirt openings.
Mattel Ultimate EditionButterfly shoulders and larger upper bodiesExtra articulation can change fit and movement.
AEW JazwaresChest, waist, and overall proportionsGear made for Mattel may sit differently.
Vintage / RemcoExact release and body styleVintage proportions are not modern 1:12 proportions.

For the best fit, send a photo of the actual figure or a link to the exact release. If you are unsure, Ask Lex or include the wrestler and brand in your request.

03

ACTION FIGURE CLOTHING

Buying custom wrestling figure shirts

A custom shirt can finish an entrance look, recreate a missing era, or turn a standard release into a display centerpiece. Before ordering, decide whether the design needs a front graphic, back graphic, sleeve patches, collar treatment, or special trim.

  • Front-only miniature shirts commonly start at $17 plus shipping.
  • Front-and-back miniature shirts commonly start at $23 plus shipping.
  • Printed sleeve patches commonly add $3 each.
  • Artwork recreation is $40 per design when needed and approved.

Complex construction, unusual materials, quantity, and deadlines can change the final quote. The quote is always confirmed before custom production begins.

MINIATURE CHAMPIONSHIPS

What makes a convincing custom wrestling belt?

The best miniature wrestling belts are readable at figure scale without becoming bulky. A strong reference set shows the center plate, side plates, strap shape, plate colors, stones, logos, and how the belt sits around the waist or over a shoulder.

Tell us whether the belt represents a real historical championship, a fantasy promotion, or an original design. Original belts may require artwork preparation before the physical build can begin.

BETTER REFERENCES

How to photograph references for a custom

Reference photos are the blueprint. They help us understand construction, placement, proportions, and artwork before quoting.

Make every photo useful

  • Use bright, even light and avoid heavy shadows.
  • Hold the camera level with the item instead of shooting from a sharp angle.
  • Fill the frame, but do not crop off sleeves, edges, or the back.
  • Send the original image when possible instead of a screenshot of a screenshot.
  • For logos, include one close-up and one wider photo showing placement.

If only a blurry image exists, send it. Just explain what is uncertain so we can tell you what else may be needed.

COLLECTOR SHELVES

How to display custom wrestling figures safely

Keep figures and handmade gear away from direct sunlight, high heat, moisture, and unstable shelf edges. Use stands for action poses and leave space between figures so belts, jackets, and accessories do not rub against neighboring pieces.

  • Rotate crowded displays instead of forcing every figure onto one shelf.
  • Photograph the shelf before moving complex scenes.
  • Store unused accessories in labeled, acid-free bags or small cases.
  • Do not use cleaners, adhesives, or heat on handmade gear without asking first.
  • Use soft, indirect light for toy photography to reduce glare.

QUICK ANSWERS

Questions collectors ask before their first custom

Can I order only one custom shirt?

Yes. Single-item requests are welcome, subject to project review and availability.

Can I send reference photos?

Yes. The request form accepts multiple JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, and PDF files. Clear front, back, side, and detail images are best.

How long do customs take?

Timing depends on complexity, artwork, quantity, current workload, and how quickly details are approved. We confirm the estimated timeline before work begins.

Will custom gear fit every 1:12 figure?

No single fit is guaranteed for every body mold. Include the exact figure line and body type so fit can be reviewed.

What if I do not have a clean logo file?

We may be able to recreate the artwork. Artwork recreation is $40 per design, and the charge is confirmed before artwork begins.
